Contributions Advent prayers for creation A set of prayers that stress creation and environmental themes, tied to the Advent and Christmas texts in the lectionary for December 2008. Praying with Creation August 07 This is a set of prayers written to support congregations in their efforts to care for creation. It is set for the Sundays following Pentecost in 2007 (Year C). Prayers for Creation after Pentecost These are prayers that were written for public use during the season after Pentecost in 2007. They draw on themes of caring for Creation. Praying with creation at Pentecost These are prayers written to coincide with the time of Pentecost in 2008, and which draw on themes of care for Creation. Praying with creation These are prayer petitions written to coincide with the Lenten lectionary in 2008. They draw on themes of caring for Creation. Stewardship of the Environment Pledge The Wndmill Task Force was initiated last year to explore the possibility of erecting a windmill on the property of Madison Christian Community. The task force quickly discovered that using renewable sources of energy is just one component of becoming a community committed to stewardship of the environment. Some of the task force's labors will bear fruit. We are in the process of applying for a grant with Wisconsin Focus on Energy to implement energy saving measures. |
