Journey Through Lent: A Children's Sermon Series
This children’s sermon series is designed to give children a sense of the meaning of the penitential season of Lent and what it means to be in relationship and conversation with God. It also is meant to convey in a visual way how through Easter, God has changed, to our good, the relationship God has with us.

I really appreciate how this children's sermon stretches over the entire time of Lent and is consistent--it builds off of each individual week and carries through the entire season. The personal items for the children to take home each week: a purple cloth, compass, etc. are a great way to bring the story back into the home and also a way to truly make the story personal for the children. For the fourth week I would maybe use the Bible as a whole as opposed to the Ten Commandments alone, but I think that is just up to a person's discretion. It also may be difficult to get the answers looked for each week when the only prompt is What do we need for the trip? but that can also be easily modified. Overall, I think it is an above par resource and a great way to bring children into the very important season of Lent.
