Senior High Weekend Retreat Resource
This is a 2.5-day weekend retreat guide I designed for Senior High Youth at my church. Even though this resource was conducted originally with Senior High Youth, it can be used and/or adapted for an audience of any age. The theme of the retreat was God's creation. The weekend begins with an immersion into God's creation by way of a hike. Through this experience, participants can reflect on what they see, experience, and how it relates to the scripture, prayers and questions provided. We had other activities that were integrated into the time frame of the weekend. We had a few worship times with songs reflecting God’s creation. We also had free time that allowed the participants to interact with the creation however they wished. The questions and scripture included in this retreat encourage the participants to reflect on how different their context in God's creation back home relates to how they feel in the context of the retreat. Also included in this resource are some brief discussion questions on the movie "Big Fish" I created for thoughtful reflection.

This is a curriculum was used by Spiritual Pride Project (www.spiritualprideproject.org) in a weekend retreat for LGBTQIA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Qustioning, Intersex, and Ally) youth grades 6-12. The goal of the retreat is for the youth to recognize that they are beloved children of God, that who they are has value and they have something to offer the world. We welcome questions on how to adapt this curriculum for your setting.

Boundary Water Canoe Area Group Devotions
This set of devotions were used on a Boundary Waters Canoe Trip. It is simple in form to keep true to the simplicity of being in nature, slowing down and having a break from technology. It uses biblical texts, song and questions to draw participants into discussion and thoughtful reflection. It is a nice way to end the day and reflect on time in nature and in community. The devotions are divided into five days, which break down into four evening reflections and a fifth reflection/communion service done on the morning of departing from the Boundary Waters. See “things to think about” below to aid you in leading. Obviously, these devotions could be used in multiple settings/experiences. This set of devotions were set up for a specific route in the Boundary Waters with a group of adult women. You will need to tweak it to fit your experience. When I refer to BWCA it means Boundary Water Canoe Area.
