Shepherds care for their sheep
This is a children's sermon that may be used when illustrating God as a shepherd. The kids are active and engaged in the children's sermon, hiding in the sanctuary. The kids and adults thought this was great when I gave it in my churches. Probably better for smaller congregations, but I'd love to know how it would work for larger congregations with more than 10 kids.

I enjoyed reading this sermon on God and his sheep, and especially enjoyed how the kids were asked to hide in the sanctuary! This really paints a mental image for the children, as the shepherd truly goes to find each and every one. He/She does not stop until all of them have been found, no matter where the sheep may have "run off" to. It is such a simple message to hear at first, but to place action into it, a deeper meaning of what it means to be "found" is brought to life! Also, the point that God continues to go and find us, not the other way around, would be an additional point to stress that I think children would be able to understand! Thank you for sharing this!
